UFE answers both the combined evaluation roadmap and inception impact assessment and the public consultation on Trans-European energy infrastructure
UFE welcomes the EC’s initiative to review the TEN-E regulation.
Regarding the roadmap and the inception impact assessment, the EC’s work program goes in the right direction and UFE believes that the new regulation should first of all guarantee that a robust CBA analysis so as to select projects that have a significant impact at EU level is conducted and that a better cooperation between TSOs and DSOs is ensured.
Regarding the public consultation, UFE calls for the establishment of sustainability criteria to effectively promote decarbonisation at various level while updating existing criteria that are too restrictive for some type of projects (smart grids, offshore wind connection). In addition, reinforcing public consultation as well as the development of synergies should also be a priority.
