Electriciens sans frontières: Celebrating 30 years promoting access to electricity worldwide

Connected to our computers and smartphones all day long and used to public lighting, we sometimes fail to imagine the situation of about 1.1bn people around the world who do not have access electricity. Committed to better apprehending this reality, the international solidarity NGO ‘Electriciens Sans Frontières’ (Electricians Without Borders) that UFE supports, released a web documentary #Electricityforgood. Around the daily life of Zacharie and his village, the interactive documentary will invite you to discover how an electrical outlet brings about a positive revolution.

Electriciens sans frontières invite you to discover, as of today, its interactive webdocumentary #electricityforgood. This project marks the 30th anniversary of the NGO supporting access to electricity and water in the world.

Immerse yourself in an African village without electricity

Guided by Zacharie, you will meet the inhabitants of his village and discover how a bulb and a power outlet can profoundly change the daily life of a whole community.
Discover through this innovative way how an isolated village benefits from electricity access. Guess what the links are between:
• ► a fridge and health improvement?
• ► a solar panel and water access?
• ► a bulb and women empowerment?

When fiction meets reality…

Throughout your journey, you will be able to install solar kits and contribute to electricity access in the most vulnerable countries. Your action will enable you to raise up to 1€ that you will then allocate to an international solidary project led by the NGO in Madagascar or Haiti. Electriciens sans frontières will also be present in different events to underline the key challenges lying at the core of its mission across the globe for the past 30 years:
• Saturday October 1st, 2016 at the exhibition Réflection électrique during the White Night in Paris ;
• Thursday October 6th, 2016 during the conference « Accès universel à l’électricité et à l’eau : quel espoir aujourd’hui pour les populations rurales des pays en développement ? » held at the National Assembly.
