In France, one of every two cars is sold to a professional customer. Thus, companies do not escape the trends of the car market. Let us look at the factors that have an impact on the purchasing decisions of the fleets managers: 1. The consideration of the risks of traffic limitation in cities that might be imposed soon on diesel vehicles; 2. The resale value of vehicles on the second-hand market (down for diesel) and 3. The gradual convergence of taxation on fuels in petrol stations (the price of diesel now exceeds the price of gasoline). And, this is not all: since September 1st, all vehicles are tested accordingly to the new Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP), closer to the real driving conditions that its predecessor (NEDC), which mechanically increases the level of CO2 emissions retained. The consequence is also economic: this new homologation affects the ecological bonus-malus system and the amount of the taxation on company vehicles. Fleets managers, stuck between diesel and CO2, start looking shyly to the electromobility segment. The bigger ones, such as Arval and LeasePlan are already offering electrical solutions. It is sure, even among professionals, the trend will be electric!
