  • SECURITY OF ELECTRICITY SUPPLY, MORE AND MORE A EUROPEAN CHALLENGE

    Establishing a capacity obligation in France, the NOME law set security of supply as a national priority. By launching, on the 15th of April, a public consultation on the “participation of European capacities to the French system, and the characteristics of a hypothetic European mechanism” under the mandate of Ségolène Royal, RTE shows that the issue of security of supply has now become European.

  • LONDON FORUM: THE PROSUMERS AT THE HEART OF ENERGY UNION

    The last 12th and 13th of March was held the "Citizen Energy Forum", created in 2007 by the European Commission and better known as "London Forum". As every year, the goal was to push the thinking on issues related to energy consumers. Due to the European elections and the nomination of a new European Commission, the last Forum took place 15 months ago. So, its recommendations, which have always a decisive impact on the evolution of European legislation regarding retail markets and consumer rights, were eagerly awaited by industry professionals.   • CARBON: A FAIR PRICE TO SAVE THE CLIMATE

    François Hollande clearly stated it last week: he wants to set up "innovative financing instruments, especially regarding carbon pricing, in the light of of the COP21 ". A salutary decision considering that the national law for energy transition doesn’t include, at this stage, any measure to ensure a strong CO2 price, to foster the adaptation of EU industries to low-carbon technologies.
