Le saviez-vous? Electro-intensive companies benefit from several exonerations on the electricity price

High electricity consuming companies, so-called “electro-intensive companies”, are mainly in the paper, metallurgy, chemicals and cement sectors. They account for nearly 60% of the electricity industrial demand in France. Several exoneration schemes have been implemented to ensure their competitiveness globally. They can also benefit from a reduction on the network tariff (TURPE), a partial or total exoneration from the Contribution to the Public Electricity Service (CSPE), a compensation for the effect of the CO2 price on the electricity price, or to participate in the interruptibility mechanism set up by RTE, the French TSO.
