The French football team climbed on the top of the podium at the 2018 World Cup with energetic games! What if we get that energy back? How much electricity would the French players have produced? A study shows that if the field had been equipped with pedo-electric tiles – which retrieve between 1 and 4 Ws (1 kWh = 3 6 00 000 Ws) for each step – the French team would have collectively produced 0,74 kWh of electricity, slightly less than England (0,75 kWh), and much less than Croatia (0,85 kWh). The French team was definitely the most effective! As Lafontaine has it: “There is no point in running, you have to ‘score’ rightly”
