Northwest of Paris, the eco-district of Clichy-Batignolles was selected by the European Union as an experimentation area for smart energy management. The objective of this experimentation is to set up a district platform aiming to pilot in real time a dataset relative to energy generation and consumption. This platform will be accessible to local users (owners, tenants, buildings’ managers, grid operators, local authorities…). The aim is to test a new form of governance based on a principle of energy co-responsibility for all the stakeholders. Moreover, this platform will provide a space and resources to test innovative solutions and make prototypes concrete to local authorities. Launched early 2017, the project will last 3 years with a global budget of EUR 5 million, including EUR 4.3 million (80%) financed by the European Union.
